This entirely voluntary service is provided by volunteer patients from Helsby Health Centre, The Rock Surgery and The Knoll Surgery. We all very much appreciate the service for frail, elderly and patients who may have dificulties, provided by the members of the service. If you have time and a suitable vehicle and would like to assist in this worthwhile community service please leave your details with your respective practice recpetion team and they will put you in touch with the co-ordinator.
Aim of Service
To provide car transport to elderly frail patients and others in need of special support to and from their hospital out-patient appointments and accompany them to the clinic waiting room and sit with them they will not attend the consultation.
Eligibility
Those patients who phone for an ambulance service for their outpatient department appointment. We are unable to take wheelchairs. Carers/spouse/relative may accompany patient (1 additional passenger only)

Funding
Although this is a FREE service Donations will be gratefully received towards the petrol costs as this is an entirely voluntary service. If you are able to make a donation ask the driver on the day for the suggested amount which will range between £5 - £8 depending upon the distance travelled..
